Buhari Himself Would Be Ashamed Of Buni- Reno Omokri
- Buni lied over improved security in the North-East- Reno Omokri
Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex president, Goodluck Jonathan, has taken a swipe at the governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, for claiming president Buhari had restored peace in the troubled North-East region.
In a statement statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Senate President on Media and Publicity, Ola Awoniyi, on Sunday, Buni, who spoke at the 2022 Annual Machina Cultural Festival which started on Monday and ended on Sunday, said the large and peaceful congregation that witnessed the cultural festival was an evidence that the security situation had improved.

“As a result of this, the people in the north eastern part of the country can now sleep with their two eyes closed… In case there is still anybody in doubt, this large congregation at this event is enough proof that the security situation has improved,” Buni said.
This statement was faulted by Reno Omokri, who felt he was just praise singing.
“In the space of a week, Boko Haram attacked a Police College and a Nigerian Army university, filming both events. They also killed over 80 people. And Buni praised Buhari for improving security in the Northeast? Even Buhari would himself be ashamed of Buni’s praise! Thank God that Zulum has kept his mouth shut. He can’t talk again when Boko Haram now have Surface-Air-Missiles. I admire Governor Bello of Niger: although he is a Northern Muslim, he put religion and tribe aside to call it like it is. Boko Haram linked bandits have killed 220 people in his state in one month. We pray that God will not treat Buni the way Buhari is treating security.” Reno Omokri said.
