Buhari Reiterates Commitment Towards Fighting Terrorism

The President, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has restated the commitment of his administration to fighting the menace of terrorism which has continued to wreck untold havoc and destruction in Nigeria’s Northeast.

The President, whose comments are not unconnected with recent waves of terrorism restated this resolve in a series of tweets from his verified twitter handle, noting that ‘nothing is more important than ensuring the security of lives and properties on Nigerians’.

“Nothing is more important than ensuring the security of lives and property of Nigerians. Everything is secondary when security is at stake. I will ensure that more resources are made available to the military and other security agencies to prosecute the war against terrorism” the President said in a tweet.

Recall that Eko Hot Blog had earlier reported the killing of 43 rice farmers in Zabarmari village in Borno, a tragedy which has sent shock waves around the country.

The President also pledged to intensify bilateral and multilateral relations with neighbouring countries to ensure that there is no hiding place for the terrorists.

He once again renounced the Zabarmari massacre, describing it as senseless, barbaric, gruesome and cowardly, noting that the tragic event of Saturday only reinforces our resolve to root out all forms of insurgency and insecurity in the country.
