EKO HOT BKOG reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate seeking the confirmation of seven ministerial nominees.
The Senate received the nominees’ list as replacements for ministers that resigned to contest the presidential election.
In a letter that was read by the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan on Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari said the nominees would replace the former ministers that resigned from his cabinet.
The letter read: “In accordance with Section 8 Subsection 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, I hereby forward the underlisted ministerial nominees for your confirmation.”
The nominees are:
1. Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh – Abia State
2. Umana Okon Umana – Akwa Ibom State
3. Egwumakama Joseph Nkama – Ebonyi State
4. Goodluck Nnana Opiah – Imo State
5. Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub – Kano State
6. Ademola Adewole Adegoroye – Ondo State
7. Odum Odih – Rivers State
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has nominated Senator Philip Aduda as the new minority leader to fill the vacant seat created by Senator Enyinnaya Abariba’s defection.
