The New Media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, on Tuesday, had a stormy war of words with rapper and singer, Skales, on social media.
Skales, a former act on Banky W-led Empire Mates Entertainment, kicked off the storm on Tuesday by accusing Bashir of being mute about the actions of the police who have come under heavy criticism lately.
Further, Skales extended his wishes that Bashir would experience what is “happening to the average citizen,” which drew a quick response from Bashir Ahmad.
In a tweet responding to the singer’s wish, he said he wished his own family as well as Skale’s and that of every Nigerian well. He also made it known that he wished the singer well as he prepares to release his new single.
“Part of the price of being a public servant; anyway, I wish my family, your family and family of every Nigerian well. As you prepare to release your new single, all the best!” Bashir wrote.
In his next tweet on Wednesday morning, Skales went full blast, tweeting: “Happy new month google me I don’t clout chase Lil girl keep enjoying ur dads money he probably stole while in govt too but I wish u experience what the average Nigerians go thru dummy so u know how pained I am, fucking idiot.”
Skales’ expletive-ridden tweet got a Twitter user, @ovieali involved who tweeted at Skales: “Your manager told you to insult Bashir, that you will trend the next day so when you release your single next week it would get attention. In fact, Skales is not even operating this account, but the manager all playing a game just for an album coming out soon.”
