Nigerian Governor Marries Abacha’s Daughter As 4th Wife

• Buni is also the All Progressives Congress APC Caretaker National Chairman, while Gumsu is the daughter of former military Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha.

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State married Gumsu Sani Abacha, his fourth wife, in the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday (FCT).

Mohammed Abacha, the new wife’s brother, hosted the wedding ceremony at his Abuja home.

Buni

The ceremony drew a large number of dignitaries and top government officials from Nigeria, including the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Hameed Ali.

Buni married Ummy, a daughter of his predecessor and incumbent Yobe East Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, shortly after taking office in 2019.

Gumsu, 45, was previously married to Cameroonian billionaire Bayero Mohamadou, but the marriage ended in 2020.
