Bus Carrying Christmas Presents Attacked By Hoodlums In Oyo

Eko Hot Blog reports that Men of the Oyo State Police Command, on Friday, arrested 15 suspects, who allegedly attacked a commercial bus conveying the Christmas gifts of Ibadan Compound Heads, popularly known as Mogajis.

According to PUNCH online, the hoodlums attacked the bus at Oja’ba, in the Ibadan South East Local Government Area of the state, on Thursday.

An informed senior police source noted that some of the arrested hoodlums were arraigned and remanded in police custody, while some of the items were recovered.

The source said the search was still on for others that are on the run.

It was further gathered that one of the Mogajis was inside the bus when the incident happened.

The police source said, “Yes, some arrests have been made after the incident was reported at Mapo Police Station. The incident occurred yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. The hoodlums attacked the bus carrying some Christmas gifts meant for some Mojajis in Ibadan at Oja Oba.

“We were able to make some arrests after the incident. The hoodlums carted away the gift items donated to the Mohajis. I cannot say who is the donor. I don’t know if it is government or an individual that gave them.

“The bus was conveying items like rice, chicken and groundnut oil. We were able to recover some items during the search of some shops in the area.”
