Abia State Government says the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Uche Ihediwa, Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, and the Commissioner for Health, Dr Joe Osuji have been exempted from the dissolution of the State Executive Council which was announced on Friday.

Recall that the state Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, had approved the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council, expressing his deep appreciation to the cabinet members for their services to the people of Abia and wishes them well for the future.

However, in later development, The state government announced the exemption of Barr Ihediwa, Chief Kalu and Dr Osuji.

The state government stated, “Further to the earlier announced dissolution of the state executive council, the Governor has directed that the previous announcement exempts the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr Uche Ihediwa, Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, and the Commissioner for Health, Dr Joe Osuji.

“They are to continue performing the duties of their office along with the Secretary to State Government, Barr Chris Ezem.” The statement read in part.
