EKO HOT BLOG reports that confirming the development, presidential aides stated that some ministers, fearing dismissal, have begun seeking the influence of key political figures, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, to secure their roles.

“It’s normal for ministers to reach out to their godfathers for protection, but the President will make his decisions based on the country’s needs,” a source disclosed.

The anticipated shake-up follows a series of performance reviews led by the Central Delivery Coordination Unit, headed by Hadiza Bala-Usman.

This unit was established to assess the effectiveness of ministries based on set deliverables. Bala-Usman’s reports will play a crucial role in determining which ministers stay or leave.

Tinubu has been under increasing pressure, both from within his party, the All Progressives Congress, and the public, to replace underperforming ministers.

Nigerians have expressed dissatisfaction with some members of the cabinet, citing poor delivery in key sectors such as economy, security, and infrastructure.

While there’s no official timeline, it is believed that the President may announce the reshuffle by October 1.

A top aide explained that the reshuffle would be informed by empirical evidence and performance reports, not arbitrary decisions. Ministers who fail to meet their targets will likely face removal as Tinubu aims to reinvigorate his administration for better governance.
