Former Super Eagles attacker, Brown Ideye marked his CAF Confederation Cup debut in style, scoring after being introduced from the bench as Enyimba secured an emphatic 4-1 victory over Mozambique’s Black Bulls on Sunday evening.
The win, Enyimba’s first in the group stage, was a morale boost for the Nigerian champions.
Joseph Atule gave the People’s Elephant an early lead in the sixth minute, only for Ejaita Ifoni to draw the visitors level six minutes later.
Ifeanyi Ihemekwele restored Enyimba’s lead just before halftime with a composed finish in the 45th minute.
Brown Ideye further extended Enyimba’s advantage in the 68th minute with a sensational solo effort, dribbling past the Black Bulls goalkeeper to find the net. Atule rounded off the scoring with his second goal of the evening in the 90th minute.
With this win, Enyimba climbed to third in Group D with four points from four matches, keeping their hopes of progression alive.
