- The African body announced the postponement of 2022 World cup African Qualifiers
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday announced that the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 African qualifiers, set to happen in June, has been postponed until October and November 2021 and March 2022.
FIFA and CAF said the current unsettling influence achieved by the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to ensure ideal playing conditions for all gatherings drove them to make the move.
In clarification, CAF said they are reviewing their events and cycles to improve the execution of COVID-related shows, also the unequivocal integration of testing before matches, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.

In a press statement released today, it reads:
“The CAF emergency committee, in consultation with FIFA decided to postpone the CAF qualifiers for the FIFA world cup Qatar 2022 that were due to be played in June 2021 after taking into consideration all the current challenges caused by COVID 19 pandemic, and the need to ensure an optimal playing conditions for all participating teams.
The Qualifiers will now take place in the existing windows of September, October and November 2021 and March 2022.
CAF is also assessing it’s protocols and internal processes to ensure that all Covid-19 related protocols are fully implemented.”
