Hon. Sunday Karimi, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives, has called on the Minister of Work and former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, to order the contractors working on the Gwagalada- Lokoja road repairs to stop.
According to Karimi, “Commuters traveling on that road have been experiencing misery in the last three months, where a journey that usually takes two hours can take up to 14 hours due to Contractor incompetence and a lack of effective oversight on the ministry’s part.”

“Some of the repairs that are causing traffic jams should have been done quickly, preferably at night, but they are sluggishly pretending to be functioning while stagnating due to a lack of successful planning, causing untold misery for those who use the path.
Some people have also died as a result of avoidable accidents.”
“During this holiday season, the Minister must act quickly to prevent the negative experiences of recent months.
The most serious issues are on the Gwagalada and Lokoja ends, where reconstruction work has been going on for months with little progress.”
