Cameroon’s Legend, Samuel Eto’o Up For Top CAF Position
- Samuel Eto’o Fils is a Cameronian professional retired footballer who played as a striker.
- Eto’o was born on 10 March 1981.
- He was regarded as one of the best striker in the world and he is regarded as one of the greatest African players of all time.
Reports coming in from Morocco indicates that new CAF President, Patrice Motsepe wants to appoint Cameroon legend and former Barcelona star, Samuel Eto’o as the CAF Deputy General Secretary as he seeks to involve more former African legends in football adminstration on the continent.
Eto’o a four time former African footballer of the year has been doing some philanthropic work in his home country Cameroon, with some analysts suggesting that he was positioning himself to be the president of the Cameroonian Football Association.
Recently Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane while at the Club World Cup in Qatar called for leadership renewal at CAF and for African legends like Eto’o and Didier Drogba to get into positions of authority, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
Samuel Eto’o won the African footballer of the year in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010
The African Legend also won the African Cup of Nations on two occasions 2000 & 2002.
