  • CAN Calls On Christians To Walk In Unity As NGO Gifts Epe Youth Over 2 Million Mentorship PackageEKO HOT BLOG reports that the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN), has called on all Christians across the nation to walk together as one in Christ.

A Non-Profit Organization, Save The Youths Initiative, also gave a sizeable number of D’Quell Choir choristers mentorship and training program worth over 2.2 Million Naira.

The call was made by President of CAN, Epe Zone, Pastor Taiwo Fatai, in the Christmas message he delivered at the Epe Christmas Concert tagged, “Carol of Three Lessons,” organised in partnership with Lagos Theater Epe and D’Quell Choir on Friday 10th December 2021.

This online media platform gathered that D’Quell Choir is an inter-religious and inter-denominational, moral and edutainment music group founded by Mr Ademola Adedoyin, a Music Lecturer at the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts, Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, MOCPED, Noforija, Epe.

The Music group whose objective is to discover, build, exhibit and promote musical talents in Epe and its environs has its core members drafted from Epe residents, MOCPED and University of Ibadan (MOCPED) students.

Inspired by the diversity of talents from various church denominations that performed the musical concert, Pastor Taiwo, said that such was supposed to be the practice across the board in churches under CAN without any form of discrimination or segregation.

“It is a coming together of people from different combinations, tribes and backgrounds and we saw the joy. From what I saw, people from different churches gathered together to produce melodious songs to the Lord. If it were to be from one church, doctrinal problems would not have allowed it to be successful. The way we would want to do it as a Cele man would be different from a Deeper Life man,” he said.

Reading from the book Acts Chapter 8 verse 22 in the bible, Pastor Taiwo asserted that the love of God, the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ would be meaningless if believers of the Christian faith would not eschew individual differences and accept the cross, stating that the musical concert he experienced can not be compared to that of the Church.

“This has been the problem even in CAN which I co-ordinate, by God’s grace. When we come together as one unit, we will build harmonious relationships, but when we want to exhibit who we are, we want to display who is more spiritual, you will see a fight, you will see hatred. That is when you start to see the person that can preach better, that is when you begin to see who is holier than the other and these have broken the chords of unity and have affected the body of Christ,” he said.

To enjoy Christmas the more, Pastor Taiwo submitted that Christians must have a clear understanding that; Christ is for nobody and any Church but all, no church is above the other and the essence of living is to end up in eternity and to rejoice with God.

Meanwhile, a Non-Profit Organization, Save The Youths Initiative, with the vision of empowering 5 Million youths globally in the digital economy by the year 2025, stunned a sizeable number of D’Quell Choir choristers with a mentorship and training program worth over 2.2 Million Naira.

This online media platform gathered that the Kwench Honga program headed by Mrs Nnebe, an initiative of the NGO, is to give the good life to the dejected, neglected and oppressed to give humanity a reason to dream and live again.

The program had the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Dr Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo (represented); Retired Justice of Lagos, Justice Adeniyi Ebenezer Adebajo; Former First Lady of Lagos, Lady Doja Otedola (represented) and First Female Member of the Federal Republic in Lagos State, Princess Dr Gloria Adebajo-Fraser (represented) as Royal Father, Grand Sponsor, Mother of The Day and Special Guest respectively.

D’Quell Choir thrilled guests with melodious music performances from songs like First Noel, O come all ye faithful, Gracious father, hallelujah Amen, Hallelujah Chorus, Benediction and Feliz Navidad.

Feature drama such as dance and musical performances were staged by Kuyem Theatre Troupe, Dammy Sax including RCCG Provincial mass choir Epe and St Michael Anglican Church, Popo-Oba, Epe.
