Motorist Critically Injured As Car Collided With Minibus On Lagos Highway

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the lone occupant inside a Toyota Corolla car narrowly escaped death on Monday after his car was involved in a head-on collision with a commercial minibus on a Lagos highway.

Thi incident, which left the motorist serious injuries, occurred around 1:10 p.m. on Bourdillon Road inward Alexander in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State when the lone occupant of the Toyota Corolla car who was on top speed collided with the Suzuki commercial minibus also said to be on top speed on the highway.

This online media platform gathered that both vehicles were coming from different directions and on reaching the intersection on the highway, the two vehicles collided, causing major damage to the Corolla while the minibus also suffered some damage.

As a result of the accident, the lone occupant of the Corolla was said to have suffered some injuries and had to be rushed to a nearby hospital for prompt medical attention.

The impact of the accident caused substantial damage to the Corolla as both the windscreen, the bonnet and the entire front part of the Corolla were seriously destroyed while the minibus had its bumper, driver’s side and the front light damaged and the windscreen got slightly broken.

The incident was announced by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the agency in charge of traffic management in Lagos State, on its Facebook wall on Monday which added that its officials were making efforts to evacuate them off the road.

The agency also added that its men are on ground controlling the traffic situation that followed the incident.

According to LASTMA: “An accident involving a Toyota Corolla and a Suzuki minibus that collided at the intersection on Bourdillon Road inward Alexander in Ikoyi.

“The lone occupant of the Toyota Corolla was injured in the accident and had been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Effort is on to evacuate the vehicles off the road while our officers are on ground doing the needful.”
