However, a lot of football analysts are of the opinion that Thursday’s semi-final will serve as an opportunity for Arsenal to prove that they are a big club, and they may not be wrong.
Another Opportunity for Arsenal
Thursday’s game may not be just another game for Mikel Arteta’s boys, as Arsenal is expected to use their strongest team to play a Liverpool side missing Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
While Liverpool may decide to field a weaken team tonight against Arsenal, their opponent from London may not have the luxury of doing so; and this is because this game serves an a perfect opportunity for Arsenal to set themselves up to winning a trophy at the end of the season. I am not saying Liverpool don’t need the trophy, but almost everybody will agree that Arsenal needs any form of trophy at this moment, to give their fans something to smile about.
In the English Premier League, Arsenal is occupying a good position on the table and by the end of the season, a lot of their fans would expect their club to qualify for a European competition next season. But what if they fail to earn qualification through the league, can they still qualify for Europe next season? Actually, yes they can, if they emerge winner of the Carabao cup, which has been serving as a path for English clubs to earn qualification into the next season’s Europa.
