Bothered by the incessant and environmental degeneration problems caused by the activities of Lagos cart pushers, the Lagos Waste Management Authority, LAWMA, has placed restrictions and stopped all forms of cart pushing in shomolu and Bariga areas of Lagos.
Mr Ibrahim Odumboni, the Acting Manager of LAWMA on Saturday said the activities of cart pushers has led to the failures in the effort of protecting the state. Odumboni, furthermore said that cart pushers had engaged in disposal of waste in places like road medians, canals, gutters and other useful and commercial places and it has resulted to an unclean and germs-causing environment in the state.

In a released report by LAWMA, it stated that the agency has considered allowing Lagos cleaner and has made efforts to introduce Novel Waste Management programme in the state, and support PSP operators to work primarily and make their duties plausible.
Odumboni however, noted that the hazardous activities of the cart pushers have led to destructive abuse to human health and environmental Heath as a whole even while the world collectively is battling with the wrath of COVID-19.
He added that any form of cart pushing seen around the state will face the judgment and wrath of the government and urged residents to inculcate the habit of bagging waste and handling it to PSP operators rather than just dumping refuses any where or patronizing cart-pushers.
