Eko Hot Blog reports that Dr Olayemi Cardoso, the newly confirmed governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has declared that the apex bank, under his leadership, will not be hijacked by any politician.
Cardoso stated this while reacting to a question by Senate President Godswill Akpabio if he would be “influenced” or “hijacked” by politicians when he assumes office.

Responding, the CBN governor said: “It is important that we, who are considered for this position today, understand that this is a position of trust.
“With that comes a huge responsibility to meet up with that trust. I know that a lot of time and effort has gone into choosing the people who are standing here for nomination today.
