The celebration, which held at the Balmoral Sheraton, Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos State, featured traditional engagement and Nikkah ceremonies.
The traditional engagement ceremony kicked off the events of the day as the Alaga, a significant figure in Yoruba wedding ceremonies, welcomed and acknowledged the presence of guests.
Afterwards, the bride and groom made their entrance into the hall, adorned in resplendent traditional attire. Their parents, filled with love and pride, bestowed their blessings upon the couple.
As a touching gesture, the bride selected a Quran from the gifts presented by the groom’s parents, symbolizing the spiritual foundation of their union. The joyous couple then took pictures with their beaming family and friends, capturing unforgettable memories.
The Nikkah ceremony, a significant part of Islamic weddings, commenced promptly. Muslim clerics present were duly recognized, and the Holy Quran was recited, adding a spiritual dimension to the proceedings. In the Islamic tradition, the couple was united in a sacred bond, witnessed by their loved ones.
Imam Ismail Akorede from Epe, Lagos State, offered heartfelt prayers for the newlyweds, invoking blessings and prosperity upon their journey together.
Following the Nikkah ceremony, the reception began in earnest.
Veteran comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka the first, the Master of Ceremony, welcomed dignitaries, guests, and esteemed royal figures in attendance. To keep the guests entertained, the MC organised engaging games, ensuring laughter and merriment filled the air.
The hall came alive as the parents of the bride and groom, along with family and well-wishers, danced joyously into the venue, celebrating this momentous occasion.
The newlyweds, accompanied by their enthusiastic friends, also graced the dance floor with their presence, epitomizing the start of their beautiful journey together.
Imam Mustadin Ismail led the gathering in an opening prayer, setting the tone for the evening’s festivities.
The chairman of the ceremony Arc. (Alhaji) Abdul Wasiu Abiola Anifowoshe, officiated the symbolic cutting of the cake, signifying the sweetness and unity that Zainab Oluwafeyikunuola and Emanuel Oluwafemi’s marriage promises to bring into their lives.
This remarkable wedding ceremony was a blend of tradition, love, and celebration, marking the beginning of a lifetime of happiness for the newlyweds.
Among those in attendance were Mrs. Shola Odugunwa, Mr. and Mrs. Oyafunke, Alhaji Toye Lateef, Hon. Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye, Hon. Justice Adeyemi, Prof. Oladipupo, Olori Animashaun, Chief Nurudeen Gabadeen, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, and Otunba TJ Abass.
