EKO HOT BLOG reports that President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to depart Abuja today for N’Djamena, the capital of the Republic of Chad, to attend the inauguration of President-elect Mahamat Déby.
Déby’s victory in the country’s recent presidential election, confirmed by the Constitutional Court of Chad, precedes this inauguration event.
According to a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s departure for N’Djamena is slated for Thursday, May 23.
“The inauguration of President Déby follows his declaration as the winner of the country’s presidential election earlier this month and subsequent affirmation by the Constitutional Court of Chad.
“President Tinubu will be accompanied on the trip by senior government officials and will return after the ceremony.”
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place today in N’Djamena, and will be attended by dignitaries from across the region and beyond.
