Chairman, Lagos State chapter of National Union of Road Lagos Island Stakeholders Commend MC Oluomo For Peace In NURTW
Chairman, Lagos State chapter of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo has been commended for his wisdom in restoring peace into the union in the state.
A key stakeholder in the Union from Olowogbowo Lagos Island, Alhaji Isiaka Emmanuel, aka Babanla Apongbon, gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen at the weekend, even as he debunked the allegation that Akinsanya was biased against some group in the area, Tribune reports.
Emmanuel recalled that Akinsanya had, after a security meeting with the state government and the Commissioner of Police recently, called a peace meeting of every stakeholder from Lagos Island where the matter was resolved amicably.

He described the approach adopted by Oluomo as God-given wisdom, saying peace had finally been restored to Lagos Island.
Collaborating the statement of Emmanuel, another stakeholder, Alhaji Fatah Okoosi-Otun, also ascertained that peace had returned to NURTW in Lagos Island in the last five days after the peace meeting, just as he commended the state chairman of the Union for his efforts.
“We greatly commend our chairman, MC Oluomo for dishing out the God-given wisdom to resolve the crisis. We all can see that NURTW Lagos Island is now united and remains one family without any faction,” he said.
He also enjoined members to always take to the advice of the state chairman that peace and unity should be their watchwords at all times.
Meanwhile, some community and religious leaders in Lagos Island have enjoined members of the Union to allow peace to reign in the community.
Chief Imam of Nawair-ur-Deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Branch, Sheik Sheu Abdul Mojeed, gave the counsel during the new year prayer organised by the Union.
This was just as prayed for the repose of the souls of Union members who died innocently and admonished those alive to allow peace to reign in the community.
“The nature of your work doesn’t call for violence because people have been doing this job many years back without disturbing the peace of the community. Why must your own be different? Please find ways to contribute your quotas towards the development of your community instead of causing troubles,” the cleric said.
