Changing ‘The World’ Through The Act of Kindness

In this fast paced world where everyone is trying to satisfy their own needs, there arises a question of why one should be kind to their fellow humans. The answer to this lies in the fact that everyone is going through the same experience in their lives. We all face problems and go through some patches in a certain stage in our lives; hence, being kind to each other makes the journey more bearable.

Kindness towards each other should be a common goal amongst not just one’s peers but for everyone that one comes in contact with. Every time one does an act of kindness such as helping an old woman cross the street, assisting a destitute in time of need, or even something small as opening a door for a stranger, one is creating a better mood and environment for the assisted and all who are witness to it; a small drop in a pond can create a ripple that spans the entire surface. So, one can quite literally change the world through their little act of kindness.

Kindness is a quality which comprises many things like warmth, smile, giving, concern, empathy, etc. It is what makes humanity humane; at dark times, kindness serves as a sparkling light that makes the bleaker things brighter.
Being kind does not imply weakness, it is simply opening one’s eyes and seeing the problems others face and offering one’s help. When one gives hope to others through act of kindness, the same hope will be instilled in you with immense happiness and satisfaction.

The things we regret most in our lives will always be the situations where we could have offered help to others but we did not.
The video below clearly portrays how a little act of kindness has the power of transforming one’s world. The man, with a compassionate and kind heart, identifies the petty trader’s problem and comes not to buy her pepper but to give her hope that there are good things in life and with humane assistance of the privileged, others can equally experience them.

The booming poetry of agony on the depressed woman’s face before experiencing the kind gesture which suddenly transforms into the tears of joy expresses her profound gratitude to the man’s humane disposition.

The little gesture did not only transform the woman’s ‘world’ but that of those around her. Indeed, kindness is an act that transforms the world.

Let us often remember that in quiet moments, people always look back in their lives and remember the ones who have been kind to them and their spiritual or physical intervention may avail greatly.
