Charly Boy Explains Why Dangote’s Fuel is Clear as Water
Media personality Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has shared insights on why the fuel produced by Dangote’s Refinery appears clear in color.
In an Instagram post, Charly Boy explained that clear fuel typically indicates the presence of Ethanol. He noted that Ethanol contains a significant amount of oxygen, which helps reduce carbonation in engines.
Charly Boy stressed that fuel refined with Ethanol is more environmentally friendly, as it helps decrease air pollution by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

In his post titled “Why Dangote Fuel is White,” Charly Boy wrote: “The reason the PMS (Premium Motor Spirit) is as clear as water is due to the use of Ethanol.
Petrol comes in different colors: Red indicates the presence of Octane; slightly Green means a high amount of Octane; Yellow signifies it’s unleaded. But when it’s clear like water, as seen in the video, it’s because Ethanol was used. Ethanol enhances engine efficiency and power.”

He added: “Ethanol’s high oxygen content reduces engine carbonation, thus decreasing carbon dioxide emissions and overall air pollution. This makes it the best form of petrol. Congratulations to Dangote.”
EKO HOT BLOG earlier reported, Aliko Dangote, founder of Dangote Group, announced that the refinery is ready to start fuel production. He also mentioned that President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) would determine the pricing for the refinery’s petroleum products.
