Chat GPT experienced a global outage for about three hours, with 74% of users reporting errors. The issue has been resolved, and OpenAI is monitoring the situation for full recovery.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman confirmed the recovery of ChatGPT, humorously tweeting, “We back.”
The outage, which lasted three hours, also affected OpenAI’s text-to-video platform, Sora. This follows a smaller outage last month where ChatGPT was down for 30 minutes.
The ChatGPT outage followed a widespread disruption of Meta platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads.
Meta has restored services and apologized. The company clarified that plans to make apps interoperable have been shelved due to regulatory scrutiny.
