It is no longer news that the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) has obtained an injunction from the federal high court in Abuja to freeze the accounts of 19 individuals and a company who were involved during the End SARS protest last month.
According to court documents made available to us, some of the affected individuals include Bolatito Racheal Oduala, Chima David Ibebunjoh, Mary Doose Kpengwa, Saadat Temitope Bibi, Bassey Victor Israel, Wisdom Busaosowo Obi, Nicholas Ikhalea Osazele, Ebere Idibie, Akintomide Lanre Yusuf, Uhuo Ezenwanyi Promise and Mosopefoluwa Odeseye.
Others includes: Adegoke Pamilerin Yusif. Umoh Grace Ekanem, Babatunde Victor Segun, Mulu Louis Teghenan, Mary Oshifowora, Winifred Akpevweoghene Jacob, Victor Solomon, Idunu A. Williams, and Gatefield Nigeria Limited.
Recall that young Nigerians in October, embarked on a peaceful protest across major roads in different State of the country in demand for the abolishment of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) which was a tactical unit of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the protesters, they alleged that SARS illegally arrest, detain, extort and sometimes kill their victims.
The protest became more fierce after men in Military uniform reportedly opened gun fire on End SARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.
