Chelsea Falls Again To A Consecutive EPL Defeat
  • Chelsea Football Club once more looses in a Premier League weekend to dampen the mood as they return to Stamford Bridge.

  • This becomes a consecutive loss for the team after the shock defeat against Southampton.

  • Goals from Harry Kane and Oliver Skipp sent the Blues home with nothing, a wicked move on the part of Spurs.

EKO HOT BLOG reports on Chelsea’s Premier League defeat for the consecutive weekend following the loss to 20th placed Southampton last weekend as they again fall to London rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs.

The goals came via Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane to dampen the mood over at Stamford Bridge.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

It has over the years being something of a culture for the Blues to get easy points away at Tottenham but this weekend proved, the Chelsea the world once knew, is far from returning any time soon.

Chelsea’s manager, Graham Potter, has attributed his team’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur to their inability to score goals during the match. Chelsea lost 2-0 to Tottenham in a game that saw Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane scoring two goals to secure all three points for Spurs.

Potter lamented that Chelsea had started the game well and were playing well for the first 20-25 minutes, but the second half was relatively even. However, the second half started badly for Chelsea as they conceded a goal, which made it difficult for them to come back.

The Chelsea manager acknowledged that his team had “huffed and puffed” in the second half, but they failed to do enough to score goals. The defeat to Tottenham means Chelsea remains in tenth position on the Premier League table with 31 points from 24 games.

Potter’s post-match press conference comments indicate that Chelsea is struggling to find its footing in the Premier League this season. The team has been inconsistent in recent weeks, with several underwhelming performances leading to dropped points.

Chelsea Falls Again To A Consecutive EPL Defeat

Chelsea’s inability to score goals has been a recurring issue this season, with the team’s attacking players struggling to find the back of the net. This is a problem that Potter will need to address if Chelsea hopes to climb up the Premier League table and challenge for a top-four finish.

The defeat to Tottenham was a missed opportunity for Chelsea to close the gap on the teams ahead of them in the table. Potter will need to rally his players and find a way to turn things around quickly if Chelsea hopes to finish the season on a high note.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Potter said:

“We are disappointed with the result. I thought we started the game well and for 20-25, we were playing well.

“The second half was relatively even but it started as badly as you can start. Once you’re a goal down, in a tight game, it is difficult.

“We huffed and puffed in the second half but we did not do enough to score.”
