EKO HOT BLOG reports that Jules Kounde to Chelsea is a story that has been on speculation for a while now but the deal is one thing that is most likely be solved in the summer due to the Blues’ need to fix the wing-back situation before the January transfer window closes.
In reality, this deal could have already been done if it wasn’t for Sevilla performing a U-turn in the dying embers of the summer transfer window. Initially, Marina Granovskaia reportedly agreed to a £42million deal for the defender but Monchi and co. went cold on the deal which was said to have infuriated Kounde at the time.

It is understood that Spanish club Sevilla may end up selling the centre-back for a fee worth around €70million (£59million).
EKOHOTBLOG gathered that Tottenham and Manchester United are possible suitors for the France international this summer, but Chelsea is in the best position to secure a deal for him.
Kounde, who’s playing for a Sevilla side that is second in La Liga, is a highly-rated young player. He’s an exciting centre-half with his pace, athleticism, and aggression.
With several key defenders out of contract this summer at Chelsea, it makes sense that the Blues are looking out for some marquee signings to bring in as potential replacements.
Incidentally, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano reported last week that Chelsea’s hierarchy views Kounde to be the “perfect signing” for the club in the summer.
For certain, any success next season will rely on having a solid defence.
The Blues weren’t dazzling in attack during last season, but a stunning backline helped them go on to win the Champions League.

Kounde ticks so many boxes when scouting across Europe for the best-emerging centre-halves.
It’s important to remember Thiago Silva’s deal at Stamford Bridge runs until 2023, which means he’ll be the perfect mentor for any defensive signings that arrive in the summer.
