Nigeria’s 35-cap international, Osimhen, might command a fee of €120m-€130m for Chelsea following his standout performances at Napoli.
According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, the striker is reportedly open to a move to Stamford Bridge, as cited by Caughtoffside.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner could help bolster Chelsea’s attack, which has struggled for goals despite last summer’s reinforcements.
The current African player of the year has scored 11 goals in 17 matches so far in the Serie A 2023/2024 season. 4 of the 11 goals were scored at home while he scored 7 goals at away games. Overall, Victor Osimhen’s goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.74.
Moreover, Osimhen’s total G/A (goals + assists) is 14 for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.94 per 90 minutes.
His Non-Penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.50. This puts Victor Osimhen’s npxG output at 7.39 which puts him in the top 97 percentile of Serie A players.
Osimhen has been linked with other clubs in recent months as well but it seems that Chelsea are the only ones willing to break the bank for him.
The Blues will be desperate to bounce back strongly and get back into the top four next season. Signing a quality striker like Osimhen could make a big difference in the final third and help them turn things around.
