It is understood that Mount has turned down Chelsea’s current offer as the club is looking to tie him down to a seven-year deal. The club is reportedly unwilling to allow the England international to leave on a free transfer and will be open to offers for the player if his contract situation is not resolved.
Several other Premier League giants, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United, are said to be interested in signing Mount, who has been a crucial player for Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel this season.
This news will come as a blow to Chelsea fans, who have grown to admire Mount’s contributions to the team. The player has featured in 37 matches in all competitions this season, scoring six goals and providing six assists.
However, the club’s board is said to be determined to make a profit on the midfielder if he refuses to sign a new contract.
