Mason Mount Explains Reason Behind Twitter Decision
  • With the contract situation between Chelsea and Mason Mount at a stand off, the club’s hierarchy will be deciding on the option to let the player go.

  • Liverpool are one of the clubs said to be holding genuine interests in the player ahead of the summer window.

  • Mason Mount has had something of an underwhelming season with Chelsea so far this season.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the board of Chelsea Football Club is considering selling midfielder Mason Mount if he fails to sign a new contract with the club at the end of the current season.

Mount’s current contract with the club is set to expire next year, and the 24-year-old is yet to agree to fresh terms with Chelsea.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

It is understood that Mount has turned down Chelsea’s current offer as the club is looking to tie him down to a seven-year deal. The club is reportedly unwilling to allow the England international to leave on a free transfer and will be open to offers for the player if his contract situation is not resolved.

Several other Premier League giants, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United, are said to be interested in signing Mount, who has been a crucial player for Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel this season.

This news will come as a blow to Chelsea fans, who have grown to admire Mount’s contributions to the team. The player has featured in 37 matches in all competitions this season, scoring six goals and providing six assists.

However, the club’s board is said to be determined to make a profit on the midfielder if he refuses to sign a new contract.
