EKO HOT BLOG reports that Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona winger Raphinha in the summer transfer window. The Brazilian international was a target for the Blues while he was still at Leeds United, but he opted to move to Camp Nou instead.
However, Raphinha’s future at Barcelona is now uncertain, with the Catalan club admitting they will need to sell players to sign new ones in the upcoming transfer window. Chelsea are said to be monitoring the situation closely, and are considering making an offer for the player.
According to reports in Sport, Chelsea are interested in adding Raphinha to their attacking options and are prepared to test Barcelona’s resolve with a bid. The London club had reportedly bid around £60 million for the winger during his time at Leeds, but he chose to join Barcelona instead.
Raphinha has had a difficult start to his career at Camp Nou but has become an important player for the club in recent weeks, especially in the absence of Ousmane Dembele. Despite this, the report suggests that the Brazilian would reluctantly return to the Premier League if he is not considered part of manager Xavi’s plans for next season.
The winger’s potential arrival at Stamford Bridge would provide manager Graham Potter with a boost to his attacking options. Chelsea have struggled for consistency in front of goal this season and adding Raphinha to their ranks could help address the issue.
Raphinha, who joined Barcelona last summer for a reported fee of €16 million, has made 22 appearances in all competitions for the club this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
