In an emotional Instagram story, Cervantes explained, “Enzo and I have decided to take some distance from each other today.”
She emphasized their dedication to co-parenting: “We will always be family and will support each other in every way because our children need us to show them love.” Cervantes also praised Fernandez’s character and role as a father, adding, “I know the person Enzo is and what an excellent father he is… Please don’t create conflicts where there are none.”
According to reports from Argentine media, Fernandez has expressed a desire to experience greater independence, noting that early family responsibilities may have limited certain life experiences.
Professionally, Fernandez has also had a demanding season after joining Chelsea for a record £105 million transfer from Benfica in January 2023. Though initially part of Chelsea’s leadership group and captain for several matches, he recently saw his starting spot taken by teammate Romeo Lavia.
