Chief KLM Rolls Out Relief Materials To Over 1000 Families In Epe
By Ngam A. Jane and Fatimah Tunwashe
The Balogun of Epe Land, Chief Lanre Rasaq earlier today embarked on massive distribution of relief packages through the CDA, Religious bodies and various associations in Epe.
As a result of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, it has become even more imperative to help relieve people of hunger which kills faster than the world dreaded disease COVID- 19.
Chief Lanre Rasaq during the distribution thanked the president, Muhammadu Buhari, for his love and commitment to the nation and also striving hard to ensure that the spread of the virus is curtailed.
In his words “even countries that are scientifically and medically advanced have been horribly affected, with a lot of deaths record so far, but we thank God Almighty for being with us, our death toll is still very low.
That is why all hands must be on deck to ensure that we strictly observe all the protocols and instructions from the government, like maintaining social distance, regular hand washing and most importantly to stay at home.
But I know staying at home won’t be easy because we have to eat. That is why I have decided to compliment the effort of the government by giving out cash donations and food to the people as you can see because the Government cannot feed over 200 million Nigerians alone, they really need to be supported”.
The Balogun of Epe land further called on those who have been blessed to support the government by helping the needy so as to ensure that people obey the order to stay at home.” Let’s be our brother’s keeper in this distressing period ” he admonished.
KLM also advised the people to cooperate and strictly adhere to all instructions of the government in curtailing the spread of COVID- 19 and also appealed to the media to keep doing their best in educating the people on the needful.

“We can do well to use the Orthodox medications that have proved effective such as drinking of hot water, ginger, garlic lemon as means of prevention” he concluded.
Alhaji Arebi Faurudeen, who was also present at the occasion admonished all Muslim faithful to conduct all prayers done during this period of Ramadan in their homes, adding that this is also acceptable.
He appreciates the effort of the Chief KLM and Prayed for God’s blessings on him.
‘We need not fear or panic because of the effect of COVID- 19 on our economy, we have survived recession before and by God’s grace we will again” he advised.
