EKO HOT BLOG reports that the RB Leipzig star, Christopher Nkunku has issued a positive response to Man Utd transfer speculation.
Nkunku caught the attention of Premier League clubs after a stellar season with RB Leipzig.
The French international has revived a career that was undeniably flatlining while at Paris Saint-Germain, who happily bid farewell to the 24-year-old but could be left to regret their mistake in the years to come.
Across all competitions last term, Nkunku netted an outrageous 35 goals and as a result forced his way into the international fold and Didier Deschamps’ plans.
Reflecting on a stunning effort last term, Nkunku has admitted he is flattered by interest from a whole host of Premier League clubs including the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
United’s new manager Erik ten Hag is thought to be in the market for a player who can revamp the Red Devils forward-line.
Ten Hag’s predecessor Ralf Rangick was only in the Old Trafford hot-seat on an interim basis, but recommended that the club scouts take a further look at Nkunku after being left astonished they hadn’t already amassed their own profile of the player.
Nkunku has been discussing the big decision that lies ahead of him while on international duty as he was selected for the France team to contest their latest round of UEFA Nations League fixtures.
It’s no secret there are clubs that are interested in me. Yes, it’s flattering. But it’s also flattering to have a club like Leipzig doing everything to keep me,” the 24-year-old told TeleFoot. “Here, we will have to think carefully and make a good decision.
“The World Cup is coming to life and this is a parameter to be taken into account. Like I said, you just have to think it through.” Were Nkunku to join United, he would represent more than just goals – his age profile is something the Red Devils desperately need.
