Chukwueze Set For First UEFA Champions League Start As AC Milan Face Slovan Bratislava
AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca may give Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze his first UEFA Champions League start when the Italian side faces Slovakian giants Slovan Bratislava on Tuesday (today).
Since joining Milan from Villarreal last season, Chukwueze has struggled to secure a regular spot in Fonseca’s starting lineup, despite showing glimpses of his potential.

The Super Eagles forward was an unused substitute in Milan’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the opening match of the new Champions League format. He came off the bench in their 1-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen, entering the game in the 80th minute and playing a key role in preventing further damage.
Chukwueze was more involved in the 3-1 win over Club Brugge, providing an assist in his 30-minute appearance. However, he was once again left on the bench for Milan’s 3-1 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In Milan’s recent goalless draw against Juventus at San Siro, Yunus Musah was preferred over Chukwueze on the right wing, with the Nigerian coming on as a late substitute.

With Milan facing a congested fixture schedule heading into December, Fonseca may look to rest some key players, giving Chukwueze the chance to start in the Champions League.
If given the opportunity against Slovan Bratislava, Chukwueze will be eager to seize the moment, looking to add to his one goal in Serie A and score his first Champions League goal.
This season, the Nigerian has made 16 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
