City FM OAP Says Sorry To Chidinma Over #FvckYouChallenge Claim
Benny Ark, an On Air Personality at City FM, has apologized to singer, Chidinma Ekile after stating that a song by Kizz Daniel titled “Fvck You” was about Chidinma.
Following a letter from Chidinma through her lawyer, Ayo Shonaiya, to the radio station asking for a retraction and apology over what she considers a defamatory statement, Benny Ark apologized on Wednesday.
Speaking for the “Kedike” singer believed to have had a relationship with Kizz Daniel, Ayo Shonaiya had tweeted over the letter:
“This is just a Notice to the station and the OAP to retract his comments and apologize to Chidinma because those statements are false and defamatory.
It is their next move or how they respond that will decide our next move.”
The demand was as a result of Benny Ark’s assertion that the song contains emotional lyrics and that Kizz Daniel made it wIth Chidinma in mind
But on his show today, he tendered a public apology to the singer and other people affected, writing:
“I just want to offer my sincere apologies to Chidinma Ekile and whatever damage and inconvenience this might have caused you.
It was not my intent for what has gone viral in the last couple of days so I do apologize to you and to every other party involved in all of this.”
