Clampdown On #EndSARS Promoters Is Unacceptable – Moghalu

- The Presidency had insisted that the country’s laws must be enforced and those who hijacked the #EndSARS protests be brought to book.
Former presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu has described as “unacceptable” the clampdown on some promoters of the recently-held #EndSARS protests.
As gathered by Eko Hot Blog, the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said via a tweet on Monday that such action is entirely wrong, calling on the government to retrace its step.

“The clampdown on #EndSARS protesters and supporters is completely WRONG and unacceptable!” Moghalu who contested the 2019 presidential election under the Young Progressive Party (YPP) noted.
“I urge the authorities to “reverse gear”. These actions raise questions about the good faith of the government and risk igniting even more resistance. Not wise!”

Recall that a Federal High Court in Abuja had granted the CBN’s request to freeze the accounts of 19 individuals and a public affairs company linked to the #EndSARS protests.
