EKO HOT BLOG reports that a notable Islamic Cleric has cautioned young couples on the need to refrain from acts that are capable of eliciting domestic violence in homes.
The Cleric, Fadeelatu Sheikh Ibrahim Tajudeen AbdulAzeez, the Shamhazu Qadiriyah of Yoruba land, spoke in Abeokuta during his brief lecture at the Nikkah ceremony of Harun Ayoola Abdulmujeeb and Adebiyi Meamunat Temitope.
According to the cleric, habits that can polarize the home and sow seeds of discord must be avoided by all means due to the dire consequences that may ensue.
“Learn the art of compromise whenever you perceive wrongdoing between you two. You must by all means find time to connect as often as possible as moments of this magnitude are where several knotty issues bothering your minds would be discussed and ironed out. This would forestall the development of issues that leads to enmity,” he said.
Speaking further, he admonished the newlyweds to be each other’s pillar of support rather than giving up on each other while also stressing the importance of treating each other with dignity and respect.
He also noted that it was good to set realistic expectations, he said that it was also pertinent for the couples to be the best of friends.
“A good marriage is like a good bottle of wine which only gets better with time. As the husband, be responsible for all needs in the home while your wife should support you when she’s capable,” he said.
Cladded in white and navy blue Aso-Ebi, families, friends, colleagues and political associates of the groom popularly called Erudite made the trip to the ancient city of Abeokuta in large numbers to honour their own.

He said that he was particularly astonished by the presence of friends and well-wishers who made it to the event not minding the distance.
While he appreciated the Olu-Epe of the Epe Kingdom for his unwavering support, he also said that he was grateful to Hon. Abiodun Tobun, the families of the bride and others for the show of love towards him and his family.
