He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that messages were sent across to members earlier with emphasis on total adherence of the measures enforced during the Sunday services.

“We sincerely thank God for His Grace, protection and faithfulness that have been sustaining us and made this special day of worship a reality and opportunity to gather in his sanctuary again.

“While commending government’s consistent effort in curbing spread of the pandemic, we must take cognisance of orders and precautionary measures in worship centres and bring it to bear.

“Only members with face mask were allowed into the church service and had their temperature checked at the point of entry this morning.

“Hand washing, physical sitting distance were also enforced in the church auditorium,” he said.

According to him, only two people were allowed to sit on the church pews against the former normal of five, while the usual agenda ‘Peace of the Lord be with you’ that leads to handshake among members was not observed.

The cleric said that the government guidelines against the COVID-19 would be applied in the the parish sectional services in order to collaborate government’s effort in curbing the pandemic.

He emphasised that people must seek to live a righteous life to attract God’s presence and intervention in order to overcome the pandemic and experience breakthroughs in their endeavours.

NAN observed that the first and second session Church services attended by other clerics and choir members were scanty as only few members turned up for the Sunday services.
