CNI Facelifts Oluwo Fish Market In Epe, Seeks More Collaboration

The Concerned Nation Builders Initiative, (CNI), a nongovernmental organisation had recently facelifted and rebranded Epe Fish Market, popularly known as Oluwo Market in Lagos State, to give it a befitting look.

Chief Yesiru Dada, Agbon of Epeland, the representative of Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, the Oloja of Epeland and Oba Sefiu Adewale, Olu Epe, said during the inuaguration of the market on Thursday, October 1st, that the development was overwhelming.

He noted that this was first of its kind in the history of the market and enjoined political office holders, philanthropists and sons and daughters of Epe, to follow suit for the development of the ancient community.

Agbon stated that the development of Epe community should not be left for government alone.

“Government alone cannot do it, it requires public, private partnership, ” he said.

Also, Otunba T.J Abass, the Chief Executive Officer, Eko Hot Blog, commended the initiative for facelifting the historical market in Epe.

Otunba Abbass explained that the market has worn a new look and was proud of the evolution.

“If everybody can think out of box and do something plausible, the community and the nation will experience a tremendous improvement.

“We cannot leave all the work to the government alone, we as citizens, have our own role to play for national development.

“We should stop blaming the government all the time, we should complement the government developmental stride for us to enjoy a better Nigeria, ” he said.

He called on politicians, public office holders and other organisations to join force to develop Epe community.

Earlier, Mr Idris Tele-Olukoya, Founder of Concerned Nation Builders Initiative, (CNI), said the gesture was to give back to the community, what they have received from them.

Mr Olukoya stressed that the development was part of the organisation Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR), for the nation.

According to him, the step was to complement government efforts towards community/societal development.

He listed some of the responsibilities of the organisation, which include community development, advocacy, human capacity building, poverty alleviation and promoting good governance.

Mr Olukoya therefore, seek public, private partnership to collectively develop the community and the nation at large.

He commended the philanthropists, donors and the sons and daughters that supported the laudable project of facelifting Epe Fish Market.
