Coalition of NGOs & Friends Of Rachel Oniga Host Symposium To Honour Late Nollywood Star

A coalition of friends and NGOs have hosted a symposia in honour of the life and times of late Nollywood star, Rachel Oniga, who recently passed away after a battling an undisclosed illness.
The symposium, tagged, “Legacy of an icon (Living a good life)” held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Alausa, Ikeja on Monday, August 23, 2021 and was attended by a slew of Nollywood stars.
As gathered by Eko Hot Blog, Chief Mrs Pat Isiorho-Eleto, chaired the organising committee for the symposium.
Her children, Tunji and Sola Oniga spoke of the glowing attributes of their mother whose stardom did not impinge on her familial responsibilities as a loving mother.
Other speakers, which included her younger sister and closest friend extolled the late actor’s generosity, particularly her enthusiasm towards helping the downtrodden in the society.
Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva went down memory lane, making ample references to women who changed the world through their indefatigable passion towards humanity and the strength of their values.
She added that the late Rachel was an example of a woman who left the world a better place than she met it.
Kate Henshaw, a fitness enthusiast, harped on the value of fitness and wellness. She implored her colleagues to prioritize exercise, rest as a necessary index for living a healthy life.
AGN President, Emeka Rollers and Femi Branch, speaking on the virtues of the late Thespian eulogized her humility, altruism and unassuming personality, urging everyone, particularly her children to emulate the qualities that made the Oniga name resonate love and its attendant values.
Another Nollywood veteran, Prince Jide Kosoko in his short address charged Nigerians to begin the process of birthing the Nigeria of our dreams.
Ace Nollywood actor and comedian, Charles inojie hailed the unimpeachable character of the late actress, stating that the world would be a better place if everyone modelled their lives according to the late actor’s virtues.
Keynote speaker, Benson Uwheru highlighted the imperativeness of leaving behind worthy legacies that will continue to define our name long after our life’s sojourn.

Others who spoke were Pat Oghre Immobhio and Sam Ayomikun, both of whom waxed lyrically about the profound effect the late actress had on all those who had the good fortune of working together and alongside her all through the course of her long and distinguished career.
Friends and NGOs in diaspora also made a cash donation to the children of the late icon at the event.
