The O’dua Investment Company Limited (OICL) has disclosed that one person died and three others sustained injuries when its elevator at the Cocoa House crashed into the basement pit on Wednesday.
The company confirmed the incident in a statement issued by its Head of Corporate Affairs, Victor Ayetoro.
According to the statement, the incident occurred around 11am when a team of technicians handling the installation of a new lift visited the Cocoa House building.

He explained that the team was working on the newly-installed elevator to improve the efficiency of work at Cocoa House when a mechanical failure occurred.
The mechanical failure resulted in the crash which killed one of the technicians and left three others injured.
The statement further stated that the injured technicians were immediately taken to the hospital for check-up and treatment.
