Chelsea’s 22-year-old attacking midfielder Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2033.
The nine-year deal, which includes improved terms, follows Palmer’s exceptional debut season in west London.
After joining Chelsea from Manchester City for £42.5 million last summer, Palmer made an immediate impact by scoring 25 goals and providing 15 assists in 45 appearances. His impressive performance has earned him a contract extension, solidifying his future with the club.
Palmer’s contributions extend beyond the domestic stage, as he also scored in England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final, highlighting his growing reputation on the international scene.
Recognizing his remarkable achievements, Palmer has been shortlisted for the prestigious PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards. Additionally, he has already secured the Premier League Young Player of the Season award for the 2023-2024 season, underscoring his rising status in football.
As Chelsea prepares for the 2024-2025 Premier League season, they are set to face Manchester City on the opening day of the campaign, Sunday, August 18, 2024, in what promises to be an exciting encounter.
