Colleagues, friends celebrate Nollywood superstar, Genevieve Nnaji at 40

Ever the queen, the coming of age birthday of Nollywood superstar, Genevieve Nnaji, on Friday got the attention of many as colleagues, friends, and fans gathered to celebrate the actress, producer, and director.

Among fellow celebs who took time out to celebrate Nollywood icon were actresses, Yvonne Nelson, and Uche Jumbo as well as supermodel, Oluchi Onweagba.

For her own birthday message, Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson wrote: “The Queen’s Day? happy birthday @genevievennaji ??? love ya like crazy?.”

On her own, Uche Jombo, also an actress and producer with significant success, sent a lovely message celebrating the essence of the Lionheart director.

Supermodel, Oluchi Onweagba, who shares a close relationship with Genevieve, was also full of kind words for her friend as she hits the big 40. “It’s Nnajimmmmm Day! My Ada one ☝? of WWW. From fans, messages of love, celebration and adoration poured in for the actress whose Nollywood journey has spanned a little over two decades Nnaji. Better known as Genevieve, she is widely regarded, alongside Omotola, as the biggest female actor in the land.

Following the release of her well-received debut movie as a producer, Road To Yesterday a few years ago, she delivered Lionheart in 2018 to critical acclaim and shattering success.

Being her directorial debut, the movie premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in September and was acquired less than 24 hours after its premiere by global movie streaming platform, Netflix.
