Combatting That Nauseous Feeling: 4 Natural Remedies For Morning Sickness During Pregnancy

It is normal for women to feel nauseous during pregnancy. However, in some cases, nausea and vomiting are so bad that the women may need to take drugs to get some relief.

These drugs do not come without side effects which your doctor will share with you.

However, there are some natural ways to get rid of nausea and vomiting without using drugs.

1. Drink lots of fluids

If you’re struggling with morning sickness, you should take more fluids. Some women think that taking more fluids will irritate them, but that is not true. Take ginger tea, real ginger ale, and water more often. You can also take 6 to 8 cups of fluids throughout the day however you should avoid caffeine.

2. Take note of nausea triggers

As a woman, you should try to understand those foods or odours that make you feel nauseous and avoid them as much as possible. This will help to relieve your nausea

3. Rinse your mouth after vomiting

The acid in your stomach can damage the enamel in your teeth. You should rinse your mouth with water after vomiting. If you can rinse your mouth with water containing a teaspoon of baking soda to protect your teeth

4. Use prenatal vitamins with caution

If you feel like throwing up after taking your prenatal vitamins you should take them with a snack or just before you go to bed.

You can also try chewable or gummy versions of the vitamins, which will reduce your nausea feeling. If these steps do not work, you could ask your doctor to get you the iron or vitamins you need during pregnancy.
