Commissioner Lauds Chinese Consulate, LFZDC on ICT Project
Folashade Ambrose-Medebem has praised the Chinese Consulate General, Lagos, and Lekki Free Zone Development Company (LFZDC) for their joint initiative to establish a new Information Communication Technology (ICT) Centre at the Community Senior Secondary School, Akodo, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
Folashade who is the Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment lauded the project as a shining example of corporate social responsibility, demonstrating the commitment of Chinese businesses to giving back to the community.
She emphasized the significance of ICT knowledge in today’s digital age and highlighted the Centre’s potential to boost student enrollment and reduce illiteracy in the area.
Consul General, Lagos Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, Ms. Yan Yuqinq, noted that the project marks another milestone in the cooperation between China and Nigeria.

She expressed hope that the ICT Centre will nurture Nigerian talents with global perspectives and innovative capabilities, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Tolani Alli-Balogun, described the ICT Centre as a laudable project that will prepare students for the future by equipping them with essential ICT skills.
Managing Director, Lekki Free Zone Development Company, Dai Shunfa, emphasized that the project represents a long-term investment in the community’s future, empowering youth with crucial ICT skills that will shape their lives.
The groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter in the partnership between the Chinese Consulate, LFZDC, and the Lagos State Government, paving the way for future developments and achievements.
