Commissioner for Finance for Osun State, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, was among the seasoned professional bankers and accountants recently honoured at the institute’s investiture in Lagos.
Oyebamiji was described as a distinguished Nigerian, who had worked in the private sector, has been conferred with an honorary fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
The event, which attracted the best in the banking industry, was chaired by the former Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku.
The citation read that Oyebamiji was Commissioner for Finance in the second term of Aregbesola’s administration and still maintains the position to date, saying that his “financial prowess has tremendous input in the economic stability of Osun State in the last nine years.”
Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Chairman, First Bank Plc, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa and the Managing Director, First City Monument Bank, Mr. Adam Nuru.
Other Nigerians honoured with fellowship of the institute include the Chief Executive Officer, Ecobank Transnational Incorporation, Mr. Ade Ayeyemi; the Group Managing Director, First Bank of Nigeria Holdings Plc., Mr. U.K. Eke.
