Commissioner's Father Abducted By Gunmen In Bayelsa
Unidentified gunmen have abducted 84 year- old father of Bayelsa State Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief George Agbabou Week and carted away his electronic gadgets, jewelries in Southern Ijaw Council Area of the state.
His abduction is coming four days after Beauty Siasia, the 80 -year – old mother of former Super Eagles ’ Coach, Samson Siasia, was released by her abductors after spending 77 days in their den.
A family source, who confirmed the incident, said the hoodlums seized Elder Week, a traditional ruler and the monarch of Tarakiri Clan and took him to an unknown destination on a speedboat. The source said the armed bandits also carted away a Plasma television, two speedboats and a 200 -horsepower engine boat belonging to the commissioner.

The Guardian also learnt that the kidnappers of Elder Week had not made contact with the family, as of the time of filing this report yesterday.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO ) of Bayelsa State Command, Asinim Butswat, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident.
Eyewitness account revealed that Agbabou Week was abducted about 11: 20 pm on Wednesday night by seven AK47 wielding and masked men.
It was further learnt that the kidnappers searched the house of the King, collected a television set, jewelries and other valuables before dragging him on the ground to the waterside and fled the community.
Speaking with newsmen, the traditional ruler of Ayama – Ijaw Community, Chief Amen Sariki also confirmed the incident, saying the gunmen stayed in the community for over one hour searching for his house. He said, “About 11: 20 pm on Wednesday, the wife and children of our clan head ran to my house crying. It was clear that they had been beaten up. They broke the news to me that the King had been kidnapped.
“They told me that the gunmen held them, hostage , while they searched the house. After searching, they carried a television set, collected jewelries and other valuable items. They then dragged the King who was wearing only pants on the ground to the waterside.
“At that point, I started receiving report that the gunmen were still in the community. So, I tried to reach the Joint Military Task Force and the Nigerian Police but didn’t ’t get any response. After about an hour I was told the gunmen had left the community .”
