The Oke Balogun community recently showcased the power of unity and social responsibility during a transformative community service event, part of the ongoing Descendants Week celebrations. The initiative united individuals from diverse backgrounds to contribute to the development and beautification of their environment.
Ekohotblog reports that Prominent figures, including Descendants President Mr. Kola Seriki, Dr. Hassan Sanuth, Prince Adeleke Kazeem, Mr. Mahmood Uthman, and Mr. Biodun Kazeem, all graced the occasion, inspiring wide participation.

However, the spotlight belonged to the dynamic youths of Oke Balogun, whose tireless efforts brought tangible transformation to the community.
Mr. Kola Seriki commended the younger generation’s efforts, saying:
“The commitment and energy shown by our youth today give me great hope for the future of this community. It’s heartwarming to see them take ownership of the development of Oke Balogun.”
A particularly inspiring moment was the active participation of Mr. Isiaka Gbenjo (Gaji), a community member living with a disability. His resilience exemplified the spirit of inclusion and determination.
“Disability does not mean inability,” Gaji declared. “I am proud to contribute to the betterment of my community, and I hope my story inspires others to do the same.”
Moreso, participants engaged in diverse activities, including cleaning public spaces and planting trees, all aimed at creating a better environment for future generations.
Prince Adeleke Kazeem, the General Secretary, emphasized the significance of collective effort:
“This event is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with a shared purpose. The impact of today’s activities will be felt for years to come.”
The Descendants Week continues tomorrow, December 27, 2024, with a special prayer session following the Jumat service at the Community Hall. Prince Adeleke Kazeem encouraged everyone to attend, noting, “Prayer is key in everything we do.”
