Condemned Iron Picker Arrested for Stealing Chairs from Church in Iraye

Ekohotblog reports that A man identified as a condemned iron picker, popularly known as Bolla, was arrested in Iraye for allegedly stealing chairs from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Iraye.

The arrest followed a surprising situation where the suspect initially claimed to be innocent but was caught in a web of his own lies.

“He was caught with the chairs, and when he was questioned by community members, he claimed that someone sold them to him.

When he was asked to take us to the person, that was when we all realized that he actually stole the chairs,” Mr. Tajudeen, a community member, explained.

A church official, who was nearby, was notified and rushed to the scene.

“Everyday is for the thief, and one day is for the owner. These people have really been disturbing our Church,” the Church members said.

They stated that just last week, many things from the Church were missing without a trace. “We thank God for His intervention. It’s so disappointing that someone would walk into the house of God and steal without fear,” she added.

The suspect was taken to local authorities for further investigation.

Local authorities also urged all residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
