Frenkie De Jong ‘close’ to accepting Chelsea transfer.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Frenkie De Jong is reportedly close to joining Chelsea from Barcelona.
Chelsea might have been given another boost in landing De Jong as it now appears a major European rival are firmly out of the race heading into the final stretch, Football London claimed.

However, the lure of Champions League football could change the player’s mind, and out of the two English clubs chasing his signature, he would prefer a move to Stamford Bridge.
According to Rob Pratley, Frenkie De Jong is “close to accepting that he has to leave FC Barcelona” this summer. De Jong’s preference is apparently to remain with the La Liga club, but due to their financial restrictions, the need for a sale could force action before deadline day.
Barcelona president Laporta stated that “Frenkie’s our player, and we want him to stay at Barcelona. He wants to stay too.”
After reports emerged that Callum Hudson-Odoi has asked to leave Chelsea in search of first-team minutes, a number of clubs have already been linked, with Southampton and Leicester showing interest.
Outside of England, Borussia Dortmund are another club in talks with his representatives, according to Sky Sports. But the 21-year-old forward will talk to all interested parties before making a decision on his next move.
Hudson-Odoi was left out of the squad by Thomas Tuchel for the opening Premier League game at Everton.
