EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United are set to offload three defenders following the imminent signing of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.
The likes of Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe will all depart Manchester United this summer.
United have already trimmed their squad this summer with Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani and Nemanja Matic leaving at the end of their contracts with Andreas Pereira sealing a permanent move to Fulham this week.
They remained stacked with options at the back, however where Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane were first-choice options last season.
Bailly and Jones meanwhile started just eight games in all competitions between themselves with Tuanzebe failing to impress during loan spells at Aston Villa and Napoli.
With United thought to be close to signing Ajax star Martinez, the clear-out at Old Trafford is set to continue as three defenders are deemed to exit Old Trafford.
Bailly, who impressed during United’s 4-0 friendly victory over Liverpool on Tuesday, has been linked with a move to Napoli with Kalidou Koulibaly set to leave the Italian giants for Chelsea while Jones is also attracting interest.
Tuanzebe, who missed Tuesday’s match in Bangkok, has left United’s tour of Asia and Australia to return to England in order to deal with a personal issue.
Meanwhile, United are close to sealing the £46million signing of Martinez with Ajax accepting they cannot hold onto the Argentina international.
Arsenal were also in the running to sign the 24-year-old but he is now favouring a move to Manchester.
Both sides had a number of bids rejected but Ajax United now appear set to bring him to Old Trafford having also reportedly agreed on personal terms.
United also hope to conclude a deal for Christian Eriksen, who could join up with the club for the second part of their pre-season tour.
Talks are also ongoing for Frenkie de Jong, with United determined to bring the Netherlands international to the club.

United are thought to have agreed on a fee of £55m up front with £16.9m in add-ons for the midfielder but the deals remain complicated due to de Jong being owed £14.3m in deferred wages.
